Mark Schwarzberg, an expert in telecommunication and enterprise networking, started his professional career more than 20 years ago in mid 90s. Working as computer and network specialist, launched first web-site in 1995, got to Cisco networking in 1997 and reached to highest level of professional recognition in 2000.
From 1999 to 2002 worked in few companies in Frankfurt, later took project with large enterprise customer to renew its corporate network. Was one of the first testing production MPLS networks and later used to teach MPLS in Cisco Training center. Was involved in multiple migration, network consolidation and audit projects. Gaining experience in Data Center Networking and Enterprise networks joined a small team in Cisco Advanced Services to design and implement new core network for one of the top European bank. Involved in ongoing project of oversee and develop large hosting company network, specialising in High load/High Availability
network.
Founded Expert Mark company in 2017 to utilise experience in Data Center and Enterprise networking. Maintain good connections to community and network of his peers from different parts of the world.

What is Network Architecture Audit ?
Network Architecture Audit (NAA) - are series of measures aimed to pinpoint weak points in principles of building your Data Center network, analysis
of possible failure scenarios and set of recommendation of needed changes or architecture change proposal.
Steps in NAA process
• Scoping and initial collection.
• Existing documentation review
• Series of Interview with design and operation staff, revealing roots of some solutions, experience and expectations.
• Failures history review and analysis.
• Detailed data gathering.
• Internal analysis of data gathered
• Charting (if needed)
• Failures Root cause analysis (if needed)
• Preliminary results and results discussion.
This step involves quick review of problems found (if any), discoveries and content of NAA Report.
Some corrections in configurations or design could be quickly applied based on this step.
• Final NAA Report.
Based on network size and initial scope projects lasts from 5 weeks to 12-16 weeks.
Resources required from customer side
Obviously most of the job will be done on our side, however it’s almost impossible to discover your resources without involvement of your staff. To achieve
goals effectively following will be required from your side:
• Project manager with authority to grant required access and organise internal meetings (This role is not dedicated PM, but Senior employee with knowledge
of internal process and ability to organise process). PM is First POC.
• Read access to network documentation (HLD, LLD, Schemes, Change reports, CRM/Project software reports and so on).
• Read access to log server, inventory server and other internal network management software if any used.
• About 5 days of interview with operating and designing staff (with appropriate meeting locations preferably on site).
• Access to management network and option to connect collection device (laptop or 1RU server) to it, optionally clean server in management network that could
be used to collect data. Will be returned after project end to clean state.
• Appropriate network devices account, with option to execute show commands and collect data. Current running config access on device or optionally on con
fig backup server.
Design review is simple procedure of “second eye” evaluation of design proposals. We apply our expertise compare proposal to best practices, find mis
sing points, and optionally issue advisories on proposed design.
Design Review Procedure
Procedure could be conducted remotely or on-site after NDA sign off (if required). We review presented High Level Design document and issue report on its
compliance to best practices based on our experience.
Duration of the process
Design Review normally takes one to two weeks to finish.
